Soothe Your Mind 5 Best Ways

by Chef K.T. Murphy

tension
We can all admit life can really drain us and unfortunately, our minds suffer as a result. Our muscle becomes tense and we develop conflict in our inner-beings. The good thing is we can do something to soothe our minds and it just takes the decision to create good habits.

Here are 5 ways to soothe your mind:

1. Start Meditating

Here is a proven and great method to ease your mind when you just feel overwhelmed. Simply taking a few minutes to breathe and think about anything which helps you to center yourself is actually necessary.
• Pick the same time each day to meditate
• Focus on being aware of your surroundings
• Don’t focus so much on being perfect
• Replace negative thoughts with positive ones

These tips are great for just starting your meditative journey and can create good habits for you when things are getting quite overwhelming.

2. Utilize Natural Calming Substances

Herbs and oils have been proven to calm the body and we’ve used them for centuries to aid in healing and mental health.
Here are some great natural substances to soothe the mind:
• L-Theanine
• Lavender
• 5-HTP
• Chamomile
• Magnesium
• Valerian Root
• Ashwagandha

These are just a few supplements you can use to soothe your mind during worrisome times.

3. Spend Time in Nature

Put down the cellphones and get outdoors. The time you spend indoors in an unnatural environment on your devices have a lot to do with anxious thoughts. We are not supposed to neglect the time we spend with the natural elements because that is the way we were intended to live. Spend at least 45 minutes per day outdoors and watch your stress levels decrease. We’ve become an addicted society and this is very detrimental to both our mental and physical health.

4. Make Some Life Changes

If you want to alleviate the pressure, you’ve accumulated from living a limiting and restricting lifestyle, then it’s time to change your routine. We are not meant to sit in one place and worry about how life will get better when it won’t. However, it will when you make the decision to change your life.
• Make a move
• Pursue what brings you joy
• Interact with people who are good for what you’re striving for
• Create the person who you want to be

By making these simple changes, your mind will eventually thank you for doing something you desire to do. We can’t be locked up in a cage like a dog, because at this point we bring on many problems mentally which can take a lot of time to undo. Figure out where you need to be and love yourself for who you are. Be patient and work towards improving every day.

5. Talk to Someone

This is an important step to take in soothing your mind. You need to have other people in your life who will support you and honestly. Life is not all roses and someone who can push you and be honest with you will benefit you greatly.

Decide to Create a Better Mindset!

Our minds like to take control of us sometimes but we really need to fight back and learn how to prevent stress and anxiety from becoming unhealthy to us. Make the decision to soothe your mind by eliminating those factors which bring us down on a daily basis.

You’re in control!

All the best, Good Food makes For Better Decisions.
